When we think about generosity, we should think of all aspects of it. It is much more than just giving to others. Look around you. We are surrounded by Allah’s generosity! The sun, rain, moon, trees, oceans, rivers, mountains, the air we breathe, and so much more are His blessings to us. Do we even take heed? How do we thank Him? By polluting the fresh water and air, chopping down trees left and right, destroying the homes of creatures who are here for our benefit?
“It is Allah who made for you the earth a place of settlement and the sky a ceiling and formed you and perfected your forms and provided you with good things. That is Allah, your Lord; then blessed is Allah , Lord of the worlds.” (Qur’an, 40:64)
Let’s make it a goal in our lives to start being generous not only to all of the people around us but also to our environments and ecosystems.
